Tucker Davenport's Arrival

Tim and Jen (Brett's brother and sister-in-law) welcomed their 2nd into the world on Thursday, April 10th! Timothy Chad Davenport, Jr. (a.k.a "Tucker") arrived by planned C-section and weighed 7 pounds. Brett and I went down to Jackson on Saturday to see our new nephew. We also got to go to McDonalds for lunch with Eady for her first happy meal ever. Did everyone know they don't put the happy meals in those cute boxes anymore? And the toy was a little American Idol punk rocker... weird. Anyways, so far, Tucker has been such a good baby, and we are so glad he arrived safe and sound!

Go Tigers Go!

As you know, Memphis is in the National Championship game tonight! The city is covered in blue... it's very exciting. I went to the grocery store on Saturday before the Memphis/UCLA game, and it was so crazy that you thought there was an ice storm coming. Now, I'll admit that I haven't been a die-hard Memphis fan, but I'm especially excited for Brett and his family who grew up religiously watching Memphis basketball. And it's nice for the city to have something positive to focus on, instead of the usual. So do us a favor and cheer on Memphis tonight!

Bailey!!

Okay, I know I'm going to get made fun of for this, but I had to devote an entire posting our sweet dog- Bailey. I can just see Brett rolling his eyes and sighing loudly as he reads this. I'm sure things will change once we have the baby, but for now, Bailey is the recipient of any maternal instinct I possess. We've had Bailey for over 2 years now, and I can't imagine our family without him. Many of you haven't seen pictures, so here are some of my favorites over the past couple years...

Cruise!

I've finally gotten around to posting our cruise pictures. We really had a great time... it was Brett's first week off since he started residency, so we were definitely ready for some relaxation! We left out of New Orleans and went to Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico.
We went hiking in a rain forest and swam in some waterfalls in Guatemala.

In Belize, we hiked through a rain forest and went "cave tubing."

On the ship, we spent most of our time reading, eating, watching movies, and playing yahtzee.
After eating a full 4 course dinner and 3 desserts...

Our last day on the cruise was our 5 year anniversary.

The best part of our trip was being able to spend a solid week with each other without any distractions, work, etc. We had so much fun together!!

Snow in Memphis!

Memphis got 6-7 inches of snow yesterday! Here's our house during the storm:

Bailey (our dog) had a GREAT time playing in the snow this morning with Hershel (the bulldog next door). It is a beautiful, sunny day today so the snow is quickly melting. It was fun while it lasted!

It's a... girl!!

Well, we really can't believe it, but we're having a sweet, little girl! Yay!! For whatever reason, we were so surprised... I think everyone (including us) thought it was a boy. We are both absolutely thrilled, despite Brett being a little nervous about it (since he grew up in an all-boy household and says he has A LOT to learn). :) It was so much fun opening the envelope together at sunset- definitely worth the wait! Thanks again for your patience with us!

And the Envelope, Please...

Our family and friends are about to kill us. On Tuesday, I went down to the MED during one of Brett's clinics to get an ultrasound of our baby (you can now tell whether it is a boy or a girl). Brett and I thought it would be fun to have the ultrasound tech write down the result and seal it in an envelope and open it on our 5 year anniversary. We are about to go on vacation, so we'll be on a cruise ship when we open it. This sounds fun and special, right???? Well, you can imagine how much flack we're receiving, but everyone will know soon enough!! The results should be posted on our blog next Monday (3rd). But we really appreciate everyone being so excited for us! :)
